Appropriation

    Appropriation is taking inspiration from someone elses work and using it for your own and where as plagiarism is claiming that you have done their work along with taking their ideas. For example, appropriation could be taking an artist you admire's ideas and basing a project off of their ideas using similar elements or themes. On the contrast plagiarism is using these common elements or themes and say that they are your own ideas. With appropriation there is an understanding that this persons ideas are not your own, and if not it could fall under the category of plagiarism if similar enough. Easy way to use appropriation but while avoiding crossing the line of stealing would be to change color themes, props, to credit the artist and using different angles or lighting.
